Let me tell you about two of my favorite projects

Talent Accelerator

Talent retention is an important function of any Human Resource organizations. One of the results of enterprise-wide employee satisfaction surveys was a recognition that internal career mobility was not as effective as it could be. The company was losing high-scoring employees at entry-level positions because they lacked sufficient skills to move to other areas of the company. I worked with a team to identify these areas - mainly around soft skills such as effective communication, critical thinking & decision making, and the like - and create a professional development program for these high-performers. We created a year-long curriculum of blended learning with instructor-led portions with handouts and participant guides, as well as follow-up sessions with their peers, managers, and preassigned mentors. Business Acumen Podcast

I was part of a three-person team tasked with creating a new way to educate employees on general business acumen. After kicking around some ideas, we settled on creating a podcast. So we bootstrapped the whole thing; we researched topics, sought out and scheduled guests, recorded the episode, edited the episode, and then marketed the released episode.

We made connections with colleagues and leaders all over the enterprise, and received a lot of positive as well as constructive feedback. Over time, as we progressed, our skills improved and we streamlined the processes of recording, editing, and launching episodes.

By the time my chapter at that company came to a close, we had recorded close to thirty episodes and plans were in the works for season 3. I couldn’t be more proud of the work I did on this project. It was fun and fresh, we made lots of connections, all while making a small contribution to our corporate culture.
